Sydney and Daniel’s romance bloomed from a foundation of friendship and trust. It is a love that is alchemical and quite possibly pure magic.

As highly compatible collaborators and work partners, they were a dynamic duo who spent years designing and engineering experiences together for Magic Leap. Working remotely has many perks, but being confined to the boundaries of their long distance video chat was not one of them.

Sparks flew when they got to spend time together in-person. At conferences and workshops they found themselves magnetically drawn to one another and after years of keeping it strictly professional, they could no longer deny their chemistry. Last year in Mountain View they finally found the courage to profess their feelings and risk it all on a chance for love—special thanks to Jacqueline for this.

It was fireworks from the moment they started dating. Casual phone calls turned into six hours in the blink of an eye. They were inseparable even though they lived in two different cities. It only took a couple of weeks for Daniel to start naming their future children, which of course made Sydney swoon and confirmed that he had to be the one.

Over a magical dinner where they essentially decided they would be together until the end of time, a silly but endearing inside joke was born: they would be Goodforever, not just Goodnow. Ya’ll, they were elated to have found each other. Even Honey, Sydney’s spry senior Pomeranian, fell head over paws for Daniel.

After back to back flights and many 14 hour drives between Seattle and Reno, they decided to make Nevada their home (for now). Maple, a precocious Australian Shepherd puppy, came into their lives in January bringing with her immeasurable joy. They decided to keep her even though Honey has tried to convince them to release Maple into the wild.  

From the start they knew they were destined for marriage, so now they are making it official. They would be honored for you to join them in this monumental part of their love story!
